Congratulations to Jessica Stretch for winning our first ever Scholarship!

Jessica is a Year 12 student at Somerset College hoping to commence a design degree at Griffith University on the Gold Coast.

Her essay was about innovation in the 3D printing space and how it has the potential to revolutionise design and production in many fields resulting in the creation of new jobs and industries.

Plant the Seeds for Your Future - Win a $500 College Scholarship

Are you a creative, motivated individual interested in studying agriculture, design, technology or something similar at one of Australia’s premiere universities? If so, Flowers Across Melbourne wants to give you a $500 college scholarship and help you get there!

There are three disciplines that make Flowers Across Melbourne flourish: agriculture, design and technology. Because of this, we invite any and all students studying a field within one of these three disciplines to participate in our essay competition.

The topic to be explored for this year’s scholarship essay contest is “Today’s Innovations Across Different Markets.” This broad topic is intended to test the fledging students view of their respective industry as well as their eye for how future innovations can improve it. We feel that innovation is the lifeblood of any professional endeavour, and we want to hear your vision on how you expect it to help you industry.

Rules:

  • This contest is open to secondary school seniors and university students looking to study a major that falls under one of these umbrellas: agriculture, design and technology. If you feel your course of studies falls into one of these categories, we want to hear from you!
  • Entrants must nominate themselves by submitting an essay that explores today’s innovation trends across their chosen industry.
  • Essays must be between 500 words and 1,000 words.
  • All essays must be submitted to scholarshipsfoo@flowersacrossmelbourne.com.au.
  • All essays must be submitted by 1 September 2015.
  • Scholarship will be awarded on 1 October 2015.

Please include a short cover letter with your scholarship essay naming the school you attend or wish to attend, as well as the major you wish to pursue. Flowers Across Melbourne will review all submissions and select the winning essay based on academic ambition, creativity and work quality. We may post some of our favourites on Flowers Across Melbourne, so make sure to put your best foot forward!
