Second Chance Animal Rescue

March 2021

Operating since 2008, we rescue and rehabilitate dogs and cats due to be euthanised at pounds and shelters across Victoria and offer them a Second Chance at finding their Forever homes. SCAR has a foster care network with over 100 local homes caring for animals not ready for adoption, has hundreds of volunteers assisting at our Shelter in Craigieburn and at fundraising events and over 69,400 Facebook and Instagram supporters. Our values are Inspire. Teamwork. Leadership. Compassion. Respect. Excellence.

Wondrous Wildflowers

Our native wildflowers are hardy, bright, bold, and long-lasting, just like our love for our furry companions who we have saved and who have saved us alike. For the month of March, our Wondrous Wildflowers will be our way of celebrating Second Chance Animal Rescue for their hard work in providing animals in need with a loving forever home. 10% of the total sales made in March will be donated to Second Chance Animal Rescue.

About Second Chance Animal Rescue

Knowing she could make a change, Marisa launched Second Chance Animal Rescue with a handful of animals in need. Since then, we've grown into a network of hundreds of foster carers and other volunteers, with just as many cats and dogs in care. We're proud to say that by the end of 2019 over 10,000 animals had been rescued from not-so-pleasant fates in pounds and shelters throughout Victoria and are now happily settled in new homes around the state. (Of course, our adopters will tell you, the question remains about just who saved who!)
On April 19th, 2015, after many years of planning and endless fundraising efforts, our first animal shelter opened in Campbellfield, Victoria. This first facility allowed us to save more animals and give potential adopters the chance to meet animals in a happy, relaxed space. Following this, in August 2019 SCAR moved from Campbellfield to Craigieburn, Victoria to open a MUCH bigger new facility which included our open-to-the-public community animal hospital, animal shelter, an education hub and cat boarding facility.
